The image is linked to jail documents, while LiveScan fingerprints connect to the Missouri State Highway Patrol repository. This establishes that a photograph is created for a booking. It does not establish that each image appears in the public app, remains visible after release, or must be disclosed without the custodian's review.
A mugshot identifies a booking event. It does not show the later result of the charge. The person may have left after bond, dismissal, time served, sentence completion, probation, transfer, or another court-directed event. Pair any photograph with the booking date, booking number, agency, case number, and disposition. A photo from an older arrest should never be used to describe current custody.
Missouri's open-record framework may make arrest and disposition information available, but protected material can be closed or redacted. Juvenile, sealed, expunged, medical, safety-sensitive, and active-investigative material can receive different treatment. The county route is event-specific. Search by the least sensitive details needed to distinguish the person, such as full name, booking date, booking number, or case number. A same-name image from another Missouri county is not a match.
Montgomery County Digital Booking Process
The official Jail Division page is the primary source for the county's digital booking photograph practice and jail contacts.
The source confirms creation and linkage to jail records. It does not make the broader claims that all photos are online, that app reports always show them, or that the public display remains after release.
That distinction matters when a name vanishes from a short-lived public view. Web disappearance is not proof that the underlying jail document was destroyed. The sheriff publishes no online retention chart for booking photographs or historical booking records. Ask the Administrative Division about retention for the specific record.

Does Montgomery County's App Show Mugshots?
The official local app deserves careful labeling. The sheriff describes Jail Information, Weekly Booking Reports, press releases, social content, and push notifications. The Apple store listing calls one feature “Recent Arrests.” Neither official description promises a recent-release list, a photo in every Weekly Booking Report, or continued photo access after release.

This view supports using the app to find report options and jail notices. It does not turn a booking report into a released-inmate photo feed.
Montgomery County Recent Arrests Label
The app-store wording is a useful source check because it comes from an official listing and names the developer as the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office Missouri. “Recent Arrests” still describes bookings or arrest events. It should not be rewritten as “Recent Releases,” and it does not prove that booking photographs are included.

Use that language when tracing a booking. For a completed departure, pair it with a release or disposition record rather than inferring release from the report.

Request Montgomery County Booking Photos
The Administrative Division expressly handles Open Records Requests. It lists the main office at 211 East Third Street in Montgomery City and telephone 573-564-8084. No dedicated request form, records email, local photo fee, or photo retention chart was published. The website contact address is not labeled as the records-request channel, so call first for current submission instructions.
- Identify one booking. Give the full name and booking number or approximate booking date. Add the case number if it helps distinguish a same-name record.
- Ask for an existing image. Request “the booking photograph tied to this booking,” plus the existing booking and release or disposition fields needed for context.
- Limit sensitive data. Do not send more identifying information than the office needs, especially through an unsecured channel.
- Ask about cost first. Request an estimate before work exceeds a stated amount and ask for electronic delivery when available.
- Request the legal basis for withheld material. If a portion is closed or redacted, ask for the specific authority in writing.
Under section 610.023, the custodian must act as soon as possible and by the end of the third business day. “Act” does not guarantee complete production by then. If access is delayed, the response should explain why and give the earliest availability date and time. A denial explanation can be requested in writing.

Montgomery County Photo Request Costs
Missouri section 610.026 sets general Sunshine Law fee rules. Standard paper copies no larger than 9 by 14 inches are capped at ten cents per page, with duplicating time no higher than the average clerical rate. Research time is charged at actual cost using staff whose work yields the lowest charge. Digital, photographic, and nonpaper records may involve actual media, copy, and staff costs. Prepayment can be required.
Those rules do not establish one fixed Montgomery County booking-photo price. Ask for an estimate. Keep the request narrow and identify the image already held by the jail. This reduces the chance that staff must search unrelated bookings or create a new explanation that the agency is not required to make.
Missouri Records for Montgomery Mugshots
A MODOC photograph covers state corrections custody or supervision, not necessarily the Montgomery County booking. The live MODOC Offender Search covers active offenders such as prisoners, probationers, and parolees, but its official warning excludes discharged offenders. For a person legally required to register, the Missouri State Highway Patrol registry has a narrower but explicit role. Can Montgomery County Mugshots Be Removed?
Missouri law does not impose a blanket ban on publishing booking photographs. Section 407.1150 instead prohibits a publisher or disseminator of criminal-record information from soliciting or accepting payment from the subject to remove or correct that material. The rule covers correction as well as removal. A knowing and willful violation can be a Class A misdemeanor, and the statute provides civil remedies.
That anti-payment law is not a command that the Montgomery County Sheriff post every photograph or automatically remove one on request. It also does not prove that a private copy is current. Commercial mugshot pages and data copies may omit dispositions, attach the wrong person, or retain old images. No commercial publisher or paid-removal service is an official source.
For an error in the sheriff's record, contact the Administrative Division and identify the exact booking and field. For a copied image, address the record holder that controls that copy. Do not assume correction at one source automatically changes every other source.
Expunged Montgomery County Photo Records
Missouri expungement under section 610.140 can close eligible arrest and case records after a court petition. Eligibility depends on the offense, completion of the disposition, waiting criteria, outstanding obligations, pending charges, and other statutory conditions. Many offenses are excluded. The statute and current court form control an individual case.
Closed records are not destroyed. Section 610.120 keeps them separate and confidential, subject to statutory exceptions. A case may disappear from public Case.net, but a no-result search can also reflect spelling, venue, or system limits. It is not proof that no booking took place.
An expungement order does not support a promise that every image copied before closure will vanish at once. The petition must identify relevant record holders, and each copy may require source-specific review. Obtain legal guidance for the effect of an order on a particular photograph.
Verify Montgomery County Mugshot Context
Start with the image's agency and date. Then match the booking number or case number. Check Case.net for the court disposition, and obtain the sheriff's release event if the question concerns when jail custody ended. A bond entry is not proof that all holds cleared, while a transfer ends Montgomery County custody without proving a community release.
Official press releases or established news coverage may show an agency-provided photograph in a notable matter. No systematic Montgomery County release-photo archive was found in those channels.
